The Puss in Boots

by Charles Perrault with baroque music

Per Poc presents a classic of universal literature that immerses us in the atmosphere of the court of Louis XIV and the music of his time. A visual and poetic show with large-format paper figures and Baroque music. It aims to introduce children and young people to the rich musical and cultural splendor of this period.

The story of Puss in Boots, also known as Master Cat, is a popular European tale written in 1695 by Charles Perrault. It tells the story of a cat who, thanks to his cunning, manages to obtain fortune and the hand of a princess for his poor master. Since its publication in 1697, in his book Tales of Mother Goose, which he dedicated and gave to the niece of Louis XIV, it has been very successful.

Per Poc has recreated the characters and scenery with the drawings of the Russian artist Alexandra Semenova, whose aesthetics take us back to the time of the Sun King. The accompanying music is from the 17th and 18th centuries, acting as the protagonist of the concert for new audiences.
